Young Adult Pre-Apprenticeship

Some pre-apprenticeship programs focus on serving a specific target population, such as veterans, while many pre-apprenticeship programs focus on young adults. Pre-apprenticeship programs build the basic literacy, math and work-readiness skills employer's require and also provide businesses with pre-screened, qualified apprentice pools. Pre-apprenticeship programs not only expose individuals to new and innovative work options, but also help young adults and job seekers with low skill levels, begin a path to a sustainable career.

Two national federally-funded young adult programs that exemplify characteristics of quality pre-apprenticeship programs are Job Corps and YouthBuild.
