Programs for Youth
Youth apprenticeships are open to high school juniors, seniors and graduating seniors, giving them the opportunity to earn while they learn through paid on-the-job training under the direction of an industry mentor. Youth apprentices also take college classes that directly relate to their apprenticeship.
AJAC currently operates two registered Youth Apprenticeship programs for youth. Both the Production Technician (Youth) and Automation Technician (Youth) are 2,000 hour programs designed for high school juniors and seniors to develop career-ready skills in the aerospace and advanced manufacturing industries.
Youth apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs build the basic literacy, math and work-readiness skills employer's require and also provide businesses with pre-screened, qualified apprentice pools. These programs not only expose individuals to new and innovative work options, but also help our youth begin a path to a sustainable career.
